The importance of exchange and transfer of knowledge for the meat sectors

Societal evolution is currently affecting the whole meat supply chain. Numerous changes are occurring such as the following: consumption habits, environmental issues and impacts, animal factors (from farming to slaughtering)… To be successfully met, these mutations must be seen as enthusiastic challenges. JSMTV are tremendous occasions to promote inter- and intra- but also extra-professional exchanges. The 2014 edition fully endorsed this purpose. Abundant contributions allowed copious discussions to initiate and sustain connections for a better cooperation until the next edition. This paper highlights and promotes this momentum. For this reason, some chosen examples of contributions are also presented to illustrate the wide range of solutions investigated.
